Am I the only one who feels this way?

29Jun07

If I’m commissioner Gary Bettman and I really want to make a splash that would have corporate sponsors up the wazoo, glitzy celebs, and tons of publicity, I say goodbye to the Crackberries in Hamilton and the free leases in Kansas City, grab my buddy Bill Daly and hit the road for one place…

Vegas, baby!

People are talking about the relocation of the Nashville Predators on an individual market basis, but wouldn’t being the first pro sports team in Vegas do something for both the league and the franchise? Vegas is half-filled with out-of-towners looking for something to do 24/7 and millions going to industry conventions every year — not to mention casions run like corporations that’d more than likely invest in suites — wouldn’t that be a good thing? Especially if you relocate with a winning team right away that plays exciting hockey.

Good take, but there’s one problem – where are they going to play – Wayne Newton’s zoo?

    Come to Kansas City…

I believe there’s a consortium pushing to get a new multi-purpose arena built close to the strip. Someone had an article up about that a few weeks ago, can’t remember who.

Exhibition games are currently played at the MGM Grand. Don’t know what kind of facility that is, but if Vegas got a franchise, you can bet that they’d have a state-of-the-art facility in the works.

Isn’t the Thomas and Mack Center on the UNLV campus capable of hosting hockey? Of course, you’d have to deal with the university’s basketball team getting first dibs in terms of scheduling, but if it’s good enough for the NBA All-Star Game, I’m sure it’d be good for an NHL team.

Read this before considering a job relo to Seattle. I am a Canadian that moved to Seattle two years ago. At the recommendation of my AAA Bantam coach, I joined SKAHA. Currently under investigation by USA Hockey, SKAHA is one of the most corrupt organizations in America. They also train in a grocery store with rats….truly a miserable experience that I want anyone to think about before moving to Seattle. Beautiful city, yes, but worst hockey imaginable!

Spread the word so other Canadians can avoid a miserable experience in Seattle!!

West Coast Hockey/Kent Valley are building a program and getting the corruption out of Seattle. The coaches’ name is Mike Anderson, he is Canadian and knows hockey. They now have a home base to train in Kent, WA just out of Seattle.
